Prof. Brian Farrow 

BVSc, PhD, FANZCVSc, Emeritus Professor of Veterinary Medicine

Professor Farrow graduated in Veterinary Science from The University of Sydney. After a period in Veterinary Practice in Western NSW he returned to study and teach in the Faculty of Veterinary Science.

He worked in the teaching hospitals, completed a PhD in Pathology and taught in anatomy, veterinary medicine and the clinics.  

In 1990 he was  appointed to the Chair of Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University in New York, one of the finest universities in the world. There were 60 distinguished veterinarians in his department.  He returned to the Chair of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at The University of Sydney in 1995 and awarded emeritus status on his retirement.

Among other honours he received the World Small Animal Veterinary Association award for Scientific Achievement. This award is for outstanding contributions by a veterinarian who has had a significant impact on the advancement of knowledge. Professor Farrow is a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and is a registered specialist in both Veterinary Neurology and Canine and Feline Medicine.  

He has numerous publications in scientific journals and has contributed to many textbooks in his field. He is a member of the United States National Academy of Practice in Veterinary Medicine, a membership restricted to 100 veterinarians worldwide and was appointed for his significant and enduring contributions to veterinary medicine.
