About us

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is a well-established and leading group of specialist veterinary hospitals. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care through our facilities in Sydney, Gosford, Canberra, Adelaide and Brisbane. Our Homebush (Sydney) location is our flagship hospital, with state of the art facilities and equipment and experienced teams on site, it is a busy and dynamic environment and no day is the same.

The position

We are seeking a superstar to take on the role of Hospital Manager for a period of 9 months with a possibility to extend. This position reports to the General Manager and is an integral member of the ARH Management team and is responsible for the day to day operations of our Homebush hospital as well as supporting the Practice & Nursing Managers at our other locations. This position has direct responsibility for our amazing Customer Care Team and works very closely with Specialists, Nursing Managers and Clinical Directors to support their services. The role requires travelling (all costs covered) to other locations on occasions. Further responsibilities include;

  • Roster management and workforce planning
  • Participation in business activity planning
  • Involvement in recruitment, selection and induction of new employees
  • Manage training and development for employees
  • Involvement in employee relations and performance management
  • Ensure teams are resourced and supported to be able to deliver the highest quality of care to patients
  • Project management
  • Marketing and promotional activities

About you

You have excellent written and verbal communication, excellent time management skills, a strong ability to prioritise and have a passion for outcomes. You enjoy working as a team but also flourish individually. With a flexible and positive attitude towards work, you'll fit in nicely with our culture. This is however a high performing team and you will be expected to have the following skills and experience;

  • Prior experience in a team leader or management position
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong time management and prioritising ability
  • Knowledge of RX works or medical practice software is desirable
  • Project management experience is advantageous

We have a number of locations across Australia and this opportunity will be based in one of our newest hospitals in West Gosford. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic front desk Receptionist to join our vibrant and busy Customer Care team in our 24 hour veterinary specialist and emergency hospital.

The Role

This role is primarily responsible for providing excellent customer service, including:

  • Being the first point of contact for our customers
  • Answering and directing calls
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Processing payments
  • Administration support
  • Supporting our team of Veterinarians and Nurses
  • Minimum 2 week days with the view to working on weekends in the future

About you

How do people describe you? You have excellent communication, organisation and time management skills and have a passion for achieving outcomes. You enjoy working as a team but also flourish individually. With a great attitude to work, you'll fit in nicely with our culture. Ideally you will have a medical reception background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in customer service. Knowledge of RX Works will be highly regarded (but is not essential), as will a solid understanding of medical terminology. You will also have intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
