Surgical Internship – Small Animal – 12 months
Sydney - Homebush
The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) is a well-established group of specialist veterinary hospitals. We offer a wide range of specialist services and provide 24-hour emergency and critical care through our facilities in NSW, ACT and Brisbane. Services offered in our hospitals include internal medicine, surgery, oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology, animal behaviour, exotics and avian, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, and physiotherapy. Facilities at our Homebush location include digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, CT and MRI scanners, in house diagnostic laboratory, and ECG. Radiation therapy is also available.
Due to our rapidly expanding organisation we now have an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic individual to take on a Surgical Internship commencing immediately.
This position would suit an energetic individual who is motivated by learning and being challenged. You will work under the guidance of our Small Animal Surgical Specialists and alongside our Senior Surgical Registrars, Surgical Residents and other interns. You will assist in surgical procedures and be closely involved in the assessment, diagnosis and post operative care of a diverse variety of challenging surgical cases. The successful applicant will also spend time working within the emergency/critical care department as a primary accession clinician.
Interns are expected to participate in daily rounds, journal club meetings and case presentations. They will be encouraged to complete a published work during their internship and will be supported in the completion of ANZCVS surgery membership examination.

Applicants must be eligible for veterinary registration in NSW, have at least 1-2 years of clinical experience, excellent communication skills and a strong knowledge base on which to build. Sponsorship is not available so you must have appropriate rights to work in Australia.
