Are you interested in becoming an ECC veterinarian? Not quite sure the best place to start? The Animal Referral Hospital is pleased to offer a newly created position for an Emergency Vet to join our team at our new location at Werribee/Point Cook. The position would suit an energetic, motivated veterinarian with a minimum of 1-2 years clinical experience, who is interested in learning more about emergency and critical care, in a challenging but supported environment.

Under the mentorship of our experienced team including our specialist in ECC, the ECC vet program includes rotation through daytime, night-time, evening and weekend shifts, with 4 weeks annual leave, 1 week paid study leave, and a salary above the award (including penalty rates for after-hours and weekend work). Regular tutorials, case discussion, and interaction with specialists in all departments at our hospital will enhance the learning experience during your time with us.

Desirable attributes for this position

  • Willingness to work hard, learn and receive feedback
  • Interest in presenting at ANZCVS Science week or another conference, seminar series, or preparing a scientific paper
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, pet owners and referring veterinarians
  • A genuine enjoyment of helping people and their pets
